Kittson Healthcare, a non-profit IRS 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization exists to provide quality, primary medical care to the citizens of northwest Minnesota and surrounding areas. Kittson Healthcare has established the Kittson Memorial Foundation (hereafter referred to as the Foundation) to develop and receive charitable contributions.

Mission

The Foundation will utilize contributions for recruitment and retention activities of healthcare professionals, for the improvement of the facility and equipment to ensure continual, quality health care service, and for community engagement and benefit.

The Foundation accomplishes its goals by conducting fundraisers and soliciting cash or cash equivalent contributions for immediate, planned, or donor designated purposes. The Foundation attempts to manage all undesignated funds as an ‘endowment like’, whereas funds will be invested and interest only will normally be considered for use as recommended by the Foundation Board of Trustees and as approved by the Kittson Healthcare Board of Directors.

The purpose of the Foundation shall be to receive financial gifts, contributions, and items/property of value subject to the limitations and restrictions set forth herein to use and apply for capital expenditures, educational and other purposes as may be recommended by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and approved by the Board of Directors.

Upcoming Events

Foundation Scholarship: The 2023 Clare Hunt Memorial Scholarship awards a $500 scholarship to a high school senior and has an April 15th application deadline. There is also a $1,000 scholarship for an Advanced Practice Nursing Student. The Foundation’s 17th Annual “Score Fore” Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Two Rivers Golf Course in Hallock, MN.
